My name is Michelle Wood and I’m the owner of MW Photo & Design located in picturesque Central Florida.
I’ve been a professional pet photographer since 2015 (after being stuck in the corporate world for almost 20 years) and many of my clients asked if I was ever going to photograph humans as well. That wasn’t my original plan when I became a professional photographer, but once I started putting my portfolio together, I learned that I loved photographing people. I didn’t need treats and squeaky toys to grab my clients’ attention! I still run both businesses because I quite enjoy having a variety of photography subjects – fluffy kittens and puppies are just way too cute to pass up!
I have a passion for capturing the beauty in everything and absolutely LOVE seeing my clients’ happy faces when they see their custom artwork for the first time. I live for that moment – it’s such a rush!
I enjoy creating intriguing images of my clients that show a different side to them, and my goal for each session is to make my clients feel special by creating photos that look like they were ripped right out of a magazine. I use my graphic design background to put the perfect touches on my clients’ photos to create some truly unique artwork for them.
The majority of my work is created by using natural light as I’m not a huge fan of flash photography but will use it whenever necessary to capture the perfect overall feeling for the photos.
I am constantly scouting interesting locations in Central Florida that will serve as beautiful, natural backdrops for my clients’ photo sessions – I want each of my clients to have artwork equally as unique as they are. Plus, I love matching each of my clients up with interesting backgrounds as the combinations produce some really powerful images.
I want to provide each of my clients with a photographic experience they’ll never forget, so no idea is too crazy (as long as it’s not physically dangerous).
